As of midnight on Friday 28th March 2014, gay marriage became legal in England and Wales. Prior to that same-sex couples could only have civil partnerships in the eyes of the law. There are, and always will be (unfortunately), people opposed to gay relationships and this blog post is not intended to open up a debate on the subject. My own point of view is that I welcome the decision - 100%. This is another moment in history that brings true equality a step closer for everyone.
Peter McGraith and David Cabreza, along with other couples in the country, made history by tying-the-knot just after midnight on Saturday. Their wedding took place at Islington Town Hall in London, which was by all accounts a little busier than most weddings previously held there. They got married after being together for 17 years. You would expect to see one, maybe two photographers, at a wedding but this one had hundreds in attendance! They should have some great photos to choose from then ;)
Congratulations to everyone who got married on Saturday...whether you are gay, lesbian, straight, Jedi, whatever! Hope you all have a long and happy life together :)

If you would like me to photograph your wedding in Shropshire [in fact anywhere in the UK], or if you are planning a Destination Wedding abroad, I will be very happy to hear from you :)
